Elizabeth Bear Confirmed as Fifth Guest of Honour for Fantasycon 2016

Issue12_Bear_200x312We are super excited to announce Elizabeth Bear as our fifth Guest of Honour and second headline name from the US.

Since her debut novel Hammered was released in 2005, she has gone on to win the 2005 John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer, the 2008 Hugo Award for Best Short Story for “Tideline,” and the 2009 Hugo Award for Best Novelette for “Shoggoths in Bloom.” She is one of only five writers who have gone on to win multiple Hugo Awards for fiction after winning the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer. She is also a regular panellist on SF Squeecast, which has twice received the Hugo Award for Best Fancast.

A hugely prolific author, Bear has written seven different trilogies and series since her first releases in 2005, including the popular Jacob’s Ladder trilogy, the Iskayne series and the Eternal Sky trilogy. She has also had a wide range of short stories, poems and essays published in her prestigious career so far.
